Willie Nelson - Things to remember / Willie Nelson (1933- ), cantante country, guitarrista y compositor estadounidense. Nació en Abbott, Texas, y estudió en la universidad de Baylor. Hasta finales de la década de 1950 Nelson se limitó a vender sus canciones a otros intérpretes, pero en 1962 comenzó a interpretarlas en Nashville, Tennessee. Su álbum Shotgun Willie (1973) le proporcionó gran popularidad en Estados Unidos. Otros álbumes suyos son The Troublemaker (1976), City of New Orleans (1984) y The Promised Land (1986). Nelson ha actuado en varias películas y series televisivas; entre las primeras, El jinete eléctrico (1979, Sydney Pollack) y Ladrón (1981, Michael Mann).

Durante los 80 publicó una serie de singles de éxito: "Always on My Mind" (tema antes popularizado por Elvis Presley), "On the Road Again", de la película Honeysuckle Rose y "To All the Girls I've Loved Before", un dúo con Julio Iglesias que obtuvo notable éxito y ayudó a impulsar la carrera de Julio en EE.UU.. También editó algunos álbumes más populares, como Pancho and Lefty (1982, en colaboración con Merle Haggard), WWII (1982, con Waylon Jennings) y Take it to the Limit (1983, también con Jennings).

A mediados de la década, Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson y Johnny Cash formaron un grupo llamado The Highwaymen, que tuvo un éxito inesperado, con ventas masivas y giras mundiales. Por la misma época, se implicó en obras de caridad, como la creación de los conciertos Farm Aid, en 1985.

Después de esto, Nelson ha continuado trabajando como actor, pero generalmente solo en pequeños papeles y cameos, como en Half Baked, película en la que interpreta a un anciano "fumador histórico" que, mientras fuma marihuana, recerda lo que solía hacer en su juventud; apareció también en la película de 2006 Beerfest, en el que busca compañeros de equipo para un imaginario campeonato del mundo de fumadores de marihuana que tiene lugar en Amsterdam. Ha hecho también apariciones como estrella invitada en varias series de televisión, como Corrupción en Miami, Delta, Nash Bridges, Los Simpson, Monk and El rey de la colina. Interpretó a "tío Jesse" en la película The Dukes of Hazzard, versión cinematográfica de una serie de televisión, y retomó el papel para la segunda parte de la película, The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007).
